Our Gertrude St. Studio

Find Somewhere to Be…

Level 1, 100 Gertrude Street Fitzroy

Our gorgeous new studio sits nestled amongst the treetops overlooking the gumtrees of Atherton Park. Surprisingly secluded, the cityscape fades into the background once your upstairs, only faintly can you notice the tram though it’s just outside our window.

You’ll find our front door slightly set in from Gertrude Street; to the right of Fitzroy Tattoo (bright blue & yellow shop; you can’t miss it!)

Somewhere to Be is by appointment only, which means our door is almost always locked. Simply press the video doorbell upon arrival and we’ll either buzz you up or greet you at the bottom of the stairs to guide you in.

Please be patient & allow time for us to do so either way.

Find a Car Park

FREE parking can sometimes be found in and around the side streets. Mostly 2hr spots as well as some elusive 4hr angled parks along George & Gore Streets. It’s luck of the draw though, so if you do plan to try and find free parking ahead of your appointment, ensure you allow enough time to (more than likely) do a few laps.

PAID 2hr parking runs all along Gertrude Street (it’s about $10 per hour) and can either be processed and topped up remotely through the PayStay App OR directly on the meter.

NOTE: You have to wait until the initial time has lapsed in order to top up more time - but the beauty is you can leave your car in the same parking spot, all day if you wish, so the best way to go about it (especially if you’re in for a longer treatment etc.) is to set a quiet reminder on your phone.

*Though this may interrupt your treatment, we find it to be the easiest way of monitoring parking without having to head downstairs.

PAID all-day parking can be pre-booked online at the Melbourne Museum, just a short stroll through Carlton Gardens and down Gertrude Street to the studio. Early Birds arriving before 10am = $15, Evenings after 5pm = $10. Perfect if you plan to Stay-a-While Somewhere (our longer retreats), or want to explore Fitzroy following your treatment.

Alternative Transport

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

The 86 Tram stops right outside our doorstep, so if you can catch PT, it’s an easy option, as is the 11 Tram which stops just at the OTHER corner of Brunswick Street. There are plenty of buses (on Victoria Parade) and trains (eg. Parliament) just a short walk away, too.

BICYCLES

There are a number of places very nearby to lock your bike if you happen to cycle. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate bikes upstairs or store them in the entryway/ base of the stairwell (*same goes for scooters) as there is simply not enough space. Thank you for your understanding.
